Ed Ayyad

Ed Ayyad

Co-Founder & CEO

Ed Ayyad is the Co-Founder and CEO of SendTek, bringing more than 15 years of experience in ecommerce logistics, cross-border distribution, and building high-performance operations. His career blends commercial leadership with a deep understanding of technology, scale, and the realities of global parcel movement.

Ed began his journey at Gambit Interactive, leading international distribution across the UK and MENA region. He then joined wnDirect (later acquired by Asendia), where he managed a £100m+ P&L and played a pivotal role in the company's sale to Asendia in 2016.

He went on to become Managing Director at P2P—later FedEx Crossborder—responsible for a £100m+ organisation and the implementation of a lean, technology-led operating model that enhanced service quality whilst reducing cost and complexity.

In 2021, Ed joined Evri as Director of International, where he built new UK warehouse and technology capabilities and led the international division to £60m in revenue within three years.

Driven by the belief that logistics technology should be modular, intelligent, and globally connected, Ed founded SendTek in 2023. Today, he leads the company's vision to redefine logistics excellence through AI-powered automation, modern architecture, and an open, scalable platform built for the next era of global commerce.

Malcolm Barrell

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Malcolm Barrell is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of SendTek, with a distinguished 35-year career in logistics and a reputation for transforming P&Ls, modernising operations, and driving aggressive, sustainable growth.

Malcolm's leadership journey began at Europa before taking on senior roles at DHL Global Mail and Bpost International UK. Across all three organisations, he delivered structural improvements, strengthened commercial performance, and modernised operational frameworks.

He joined P2P in 2015, where he reshaped the company's model, forged key postal partnerships, and significantly increased profitability—ultimately contributing to the successful acquisition of P2P by FedEx Crossborder, where he was later appointed CEO.

Malcolm then became Managing Director of Evri International, where he was part of the founding team that built the division from the ground up. Under his leadership, new UK warehouse and technology capabilities were established, enabling the business to grow to £60m in revenue within three years.

In 2023, Malcolm co-founded SendTek to bring together enterprise-grade logistics expertise with modern, AI-driven platform technology. His focus is on operational excellence, product-market fit, and building a global technology company that redefines how businesses move parcels, data, and value.
